Everything on this page is live

What it does.Today, on every plan.

An AI assistant that knows your ranch. Text it from the field and it records what happened, hands out jobs, sets reminders, keeps the calendar and answers from your records. Swipe through the day's brief, drop pins past the last bar, and know what the month cost.

01 · By text

Text it. It’s saved.

Link your phone once in the app, then text the OpenPasture number. Short, direct texts like these work best. It saves the record, tells you exactly what it saved, and UNDO takes back any save.

A whole pen in one text

List the tags and what you did. One text saves a record on every animal; one UNDO takes them all back.

Gave blackleg shots to 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 and 106 this morning

Shot on 6 head (tags 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106) today ("Gave blackleg shots to 101, 102, 103.."). Withdrawal not entered; check the label before sale or use of meat or milk. Reply UNDO to remove.

Weigh an animal

Tag and weight. It saves it with the gain since the last weight. A number that can't be right is held until you say it is.

101 weighed 320

That looks off: #101 weighed 1,190 lb on Oct 25, so 320 lb is a big drop. Is 320 lb right for #101? Reply YES to save it, or send the right weight. Nothing saved yet.

sorry 1192

Saved: #101 weighed 1,192 lb today (up 2 lb in 5 days, 0.4 lb/day). Reply UNDO to remove.

Something broken? It's a job

Say what's wrong and it becomes a job. Say it's fixed and the job closes.

gate on the north pasture is broken

Saved: Task - gate on the north pasture is broken. Reply UNDO to remove.

fixed the north gate

Update saved: "gate on the north pasture is broken" marked done (job closed). Reply UNDO to remove.

Set a reminder

Tell it what and when. It goes on your calendar from that one text.

remind me to check the north trough today at 3pm

Saved: Check the north trough today 3:00 PM is on your calendar. Reply UNDO to remove.

Put it on the calendar

Vet visits, deliveries, the farrier. Ask "who's coming tomorrow?" and it tells you.

Dr. Alvarez coming tomorrow at 9am for preg check

Saved: On your calendar: Dr. Alvarez coming for preg check tomorrow 9:00 AM. Reply UNDO to remove.

It remembers your ranch

Your hauler, your vet, how you do things. It remembers what you tell it, and a text to someone else waits for your SEND.

Rocking R is our hauler

Got it, I'll remember Rocking R is your hauler. Reply UNDO to remove.

draft a text to the hauler that the calves are ready Thursday

Draft to Rocking R: "Hi Rocking R, the calves are ready for you to pick up on Thursday. Let me know what time works for you. - Sample Ranch" Reply SEND to text it from OpenPasture, or NO to drop it.

Ask it

Answers come from your own records: who's coming, what's due, hay left, who's due to calve.

whos coming tmrw

Tomorrow (Sat Oct 31), from your calendar and tasks. Calendar: Vet visit, tomorrow 9:00 AM. Due: pull 418 for pinkeye; fix fence by the creek.

when will I run out of hay

Hay: 10,800 lb on hand, 30 days at 360 lb/day, runs out Sun Nov 29, reorder by Sun Nov 15.

Cattle prices

Ask what cattle are bringing. It answers from USDA's latest auction report, with the dates and a link.

what were heifers going for in Weatherford Texas

USDA doesn't report Weatherford on its own. Here's the Texas statewide summary. Texas Weekly Cattle Auction Summary (USDA, Oct 11-17): Feeder heifers (Medium and Large 1), avg per cwt: 300-400 lb: $437 (54 hd) 400-500 lb: $383 (177 hd) 500-600 lb: $355 (166 hd) 600-700 lb: $346 (153 hd) 700-800 lb: $327 (138 hd) 800-900 lb: $313 (106 hd) Vs last week: Steer and heifer calves were unevenly steady. Send a photo

Caption it with the tag number and it goes on that animal's record. No caption? It asks what the photo is for.

Photo228

Saved: 1 photo on #228. Reply UNDO to remove.

Crew update on a job

Whoever holds the job texts how it's going. One text logs the hours and cost; Done closes the job.

fence done, 3 hrs, $40 wire

Update on "Fix fence by the creek": Done, 3 h, $40.00 (job closed). Reply UNDO to remove.

Text a receipt

Send the photo with the word "receipt". It reads the total and store and saves it with the photo. If it can't read the total, it asks.

Photofeed receipt

Saved: receipt $84.12 from Farmers Coop (Feed & hay), paid, photo kept. Reply UNDO to remove.

Calvings and breedings

A calf goes in the herd with its mother from one text. A breeding comes back with its due date.

103 calved, heifer calf tag 216C, 70 lb, no help

Saved: #103 had a heifer calf #216C, 70 lb, no help today. #216C is in the herd with #103 as its mother. Reply UNDO to remove.

The assistant's real wording on a sample ranch; the “OpenPasture:” at the start of each reply and the “See details” link are left off. Names, tags and figures are illustrative; the prices are from a real USDA report.

02 · Your crew

Every job handed out. Every job accounted for.

  • Invite your crew, your vet, your partners

Settings → Team. Owner, manager, hand, veterinarian or read only. Each sees what that role allows: read-only never sees Money, and your vet can save weights and health records.

  • A morning brief you swipe

Each person's own text: the weather, who's coming, animals to watch, then their items as cards. Swipe right to act, left to skip, up to hand it to someone.

  • Hand out the day's jobs

Pick who's on each job in Tasks. The person gets a text with the job. Hands can take an open job or hand it back.

  • Crew log how it's going

By text or in the app: Started, Halfway, Done or Stuck, with hours, cost, a finish date and a photo. Every save has Undo.

  • The end-of-day report

For owners and managers: each person's updates, jobs finished, hours, cost and photos, the jobs nobody touched, and what's lined up for tomorrow.

03 · Map, even with no signal

Works past the last bar.

  • Your place on a real map

Public aerial imagery (USGS and USDA NAIP) with your pastures, places and pins for wells, gates and pumps, and the steps someone needs at each.

  • Ready before you lose signal

Open the Ranch Guide once with signal and it saves itself to the device. A small “Ready for no signal” line shows when it's done.

  • Pins and photos with no bars

Drop a pin, add a photo, tap Save. It stays on the phone, survives closing the page, and sends by itself once signal is back. Once, never twice.

  • Share the guide

Send a sitter, vet or electrician a read-only link. No account needed, and you can turn it off.

With no signal, pins and photos save. Fence lines and areas still need signal.

  • Feed & hay
  • Vet & medicine
  • Fuel
  • Repairs & parts

2 expenses have no receipt photo.

04 · Money

Know what the month cost.

Text the receipt photo, or add it in the app. Whoever paid enters it; owners and managers see it all.

  • The month at a glance

Spent this month by category (feed, vet, fuel, repairs, labor and more), compared with last month.

  • Bills owed

Enter what you owe with a due date. Overdue ones show in red until someone marks them paid.

  • Missing receipts

The page counts the expenses with no receipt photo, so they don't slip.

  • Crew costs kept apart

Costs the crew log on jobs are shown separately, so the same purchase isn't counted twice.

05 · Ranch records

The whole ranch, in one place.

  • Herd and health

Every animal has its own page: tags, weights, treatments and withdrawal dates, breeding, movements and photos.

  • Breeding

Breed a group, preg checks, calving and weaning in one season view, with a season report to print.

  • Calendar and tasks

What's due, by day, and who's on it.

  • Equipment

Every machine with its service schedule, repairs, time down and cost per hour.

  • Feed

What's on hand, how much goes out a day, the run-out date and when to reorder.

  • Weather

The forecast and alerts for your place, from the location you set.

  • Supplier quotes

Ask suppliers for prices by email. You read and approve each message before it goes.

  • Bring your herd in

Upload a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel) and review it once. Every row is accounted for, duplicates are caught, and Undo takes the import back.

  • Export

The herd as a spreadsheet, or the whole ranch as one file, any time — even after a trial ends.

06 · Plain rules

Built so you stay in charge.

  • It tells you what it saved

One clear text saves the record, and the reply says exactly what was saved: what, which animals, what day. When a text isn't clear, it asks one question instead of guessing. A number that can't be right is held until you say it is.

  • UNDO takes it back

Every save by text sends a receipt line. Reply UNDO and the last one comes off.

  • Your ranch only

Answers come from your own records. If it isn't recorded, it says so. Ask about another ranch and it won't answer. Everyone sees only what their role allows.

  • Nothing goes to anyone else without you

A text or email to someone else is shown to you word for word and sends only when you reply SEND. A supplier request in the app sends only after you approve that exact message.

  • No treatment or dosing advice

Ask how much to give a sick animal and it says: “Call your vet about a sick or injured animal — OpenPasture doesn't advise on treatment or dosing.”

Put your herd in it and see.
